Color: pale straw, completely without added color. Beautiful in its simplicity.
Nose: so soft and light as to not be worth commenting upon without being pretentious. No alcohol whatsoever on the nose.
Palate: Amazingly smooth, no hint that it is a high ABV whiskey. Does not need any water. After tasting it neat, added three drops of water, no substantial difference. Classic light Glenfiddich mouth feel. Nice maltiness, not picking up any sherry influence. Hints of licorice spice, but not enough to grab your attention. A delicious, smooth and easy drinking whisky, classic of Glenfiddich, one of the most overlooked distilleries by whisky snobs in this writer’s opinions. There is no particular profile of flavor the crabs one’s attention, just a well-balanced whisky.
