Longmorn 21 years (Duncan Taylor Dimensions Bottling)

This 21 year Longmorn bottled in 2014 is outstanding. The nose is nothing fancy, a light aroma of Oloroso sherry casking and oat biscuits (cookies in the Western Hemisphere) with a fair amount of ethanol, as it is 53% ABV, after all, but that dissipates with time in the glass.

The color is a deep caramel amber.

The palate delivers a cacophony of flavors. Rich caramel, dark chocolate, and black pepper join with dried cherries, date and fig with a crazy long finish that lingers creamily.

This is my combination of a dessert and night time dram. I don’t use a points system, but if I did, this would be a 95 pointer. The beautiful thing is that this whisky is rich enough that I really don’t need to have more than one pour at a time, so it has lasted me quite a while.
