About Jeffrey Scott Whisky
It all started when...
As a young lawyer in 1991, Jeff was in attendance at a function hosted by his firm for other members of the local legal community. During that event, Jeff was invited to join the firm's partners in one of their offices for a private toast. That toast was made with The Glenlivet 18 years and was the beginning of Jeff's ongoing appreciation of, and fascination with, whisky in all its forms.
Over the past 25 years, Jeff has tasted and learned about hundreds of whiskies. He has educated himself on the whisky making process and other whisky-related facts. Jeff has been hosting whisky tastings for charity groups and private tastings a few times per month in his office for a number of years. Jeff decided that it was time to share his knowledge and appreciation of whiskies with a wider audience and so Jeffrey Scott Whisky (JSW) was born in January 2017.
Jeff continues to deepen his whisky knowledge by traveling to distilleries, attending whisky-related shows and conventions, and moderating the Philadelphia Whiskey Society. In 2018 Jeff successfully completed and passed the Certified Whisky Ambassador program and is now a Certified Whisky Ambassador. In 2019 Jeff successfully completed the Executive Bourbon Steward certification through the Stave and Thief Society and is now an Executive Bourbon Steward as well.
